What do I do if I plan to graduate this semester?

Where is the commencement ceremony?

What is the time schedule?

Suggested arrival is 6-6:30 p.m., cookies and punch are provided at general reception in Ballroom A. Lineup for ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m.
The ceremony starts at 7 p.m. and ends around 9 p.m.

When do I attend commencement?

Summer and fall graduates may participate in fall commencement. Spring graduates may participate in spring commencement.

Do I need tickets?

No tickets are needed, but space is limited. We recommend no more than four guests per graduate. (The facility holds 3,400 and it fills to capacity.) For disability seating, call 651-793-1525, TTY 651-722-7687 or TTY 651-772-7723 four weeks prior to the ceremony.

Who is the commencement speaker?

Spring Commencement Ceremony speaker is Jennifer Pennington, College of Arts and Sciences outstanding undergraduate student.

Where can I park?

Several parking lots are available close to the Minneapolis Convention Center. For parking information, visit the convention center Web site at http://www.mplsconvctr.org. Direction line is 612-335-6025.

Where do I keep my personal property during the ceremony?

Do not bring any personal property, such as purses or cameras, with you unless you plan to carry it during the ceremony or have someone attend to it. Metropolitan State and the Minneapolis Convention Center are not responsible for any personal property. Please remind guests to also guard their personal belongings. A public coat check is available for a fee during the ceremony.
