How would you describe yourself?
- New Undergraduate Student
If you are a high school graduate or student with no prior college classes, or a student with fewer than 16 semester college credits either earned or attempted, and planning to earn a degree.
- Graduate Student
If you are interested in pursuing one of our graduate degrees,
contact the program in which you are interested for admission requirements and application.
- Transfer Student
If you attended another institution and earned at least 16 semester credits.
- Re-admit
If you are a returning student who never registered for a course within 1 year of admission, or you have had 3 years without any registration activity, complete the printable admission application form and add 'READMIT' on the top. You will not need to pay the application fee again. New official transcripts are required at the time of admission.
- International
Non U.S. citizen or permanent resident. (A non-immigrant individual in the U.S., engaging in a full-time/part-time course of academic study in an accredited educational institution. Individuals with visas F, J, H, L, M, TN, etc., who are studying in the U.S. are considered international students).
In order to apply international or foreign university credits towards a degree from Metropolitan State University, those credits must be evaluated by an outside professional agency (such as www.ece.org or www.wes.org). Additionally, students must provide a translation of any evaluated international/foreign transcripts into English.

Academic and financial support to students transferring from the Power of YOU programs at MCTC and Saint Paul College.
- Non-degree Seeking
Taking classes for personal enrichment/professional development.
- PSEO
Post Secondary Enrollment Option program.
- Online Programs
If you are interested in online programs (undergraduate or graduate), you can view the list of available programs. Applicants for undergraduate online programs still need to complete the standard admissions application. Applicants for graduate online programs should contact the Graduate Program directly.
- Second Degree/Second Major
Tips for all students:
- Students are encouraged to apply early.
- All application materials must be received by the application deadline in order to be processed for admission for that semester. Incomplete applications will be deferred for consideration for the next semester.
- Students asked to provide missing transcripts should complete the Omitted Transcript Explanation Form.
Credit by exam:
- Advanced Placement (AP) Program
If you took an AP course in high school and earned credit through examinations, youwill need to request an official transcript to be sent to Metropolitan State University's Undergraduate Admissions Office.
- International Baccalaureate (IB) program
If you participated in an IB program and took examinations for credit, the official transcript should be requested and sent to Metropolitan State University's Undergraduate Admissions Office.
- Dantes (DSST) examinations
Originally designed for the military, these exams are now available for civilian use. They're a way to provide individuals an opportunity to obtain college level credit for what they have learned in nontraditional ways. - International Baccalaureate (IB) program
