Retirement

Metropolitan State University employees are eligible for a mix of mandatory and voluntary retirement plans. All mandatory retirement contributions are invested on a pre-tax basis. Retirement plans, contribution rates, and eligibility requirements depend on the bargaining contract. For more information visit Minnesota State Colleges and University’s web site that further explains the retirement plans.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Employees who are experiencing personal or professional problems that interfere with their work can receive confidential and free information, assessment and referral assistance from EAP professionals. For more information, visit Minnesota Management and Budget's EAP web site.

Workers' Compensation 

The department of Minnesota Management and Budget provides employees with coverage under a worker’s compensation managed care plan provider called CorVel. If you are injured while working at Metropolitan State, you must receive any necessary medical treatment from a CorVel plan member. Information can be obtained by calling CorVel’s 24 hour information line at 612-436-2542 or 1-866-399-8541. More information can be found at:

Employee Discounts

All Metropolitan State University employees are eligible to receive discounts through MN State Employees, Inc. (SEI). SEI is a non-profit organization that offers its State of Minnesota employee members entertainment and other valuable discounts. An SEI membership includes membership in MERSC (Minnesota Employee Recreation and Services Council) and ESM (Employee Management Services).

Professional Development
