In the College of Arts and Sciences, professional and faculty advisors work with a wide range of students, including undecided students who are exploring options for study across the university. Academic advising is central to Metropolitan State University's student-centered mission. Thus, each student in our college is assigned to an academic advisor. Advisor assignment is made after the sortudent receives an evaluation of their transfer credits on a Degree Audit Report (DARS). Until your advisor is assigned, or if your advisor is not available, you can contact the College of Arts and Sciences advising staff at 651-793-1457 or firstname.lastname@example.org for referral to a professional advisor. Do note that many faculty advisors are off duty during the summer (mid-May through mid-August) and may not be available for advising.
Your advisor can help you to register for appropriate courses, explore strategies for choosing a major and access information about university policies and services that can support you in your academic endeavors. Advisors may be consulted by phone or e-mail, or you can choose to schedule an appointment.
