Academic advising is central to Metropolitan State University's student-centered mission. It is a developmental process in which advisors work with individual students to create educational programs designed to meet the student's life and career goals. As a student in the College of Arts and Sciences, you will be assigned an academic advisor who will assist you in making these decisions. In particular, your advisor can help you select appropriate courses, explore strategies for selecting a major, and guide you in accessing information about university policies, graduation requirements, and support services that can help you to be academically successful.
You may contact your assigned advisor directly by phone or through e-mail to ask any questions you have or to schedule an appointment. If your advisor is not available and you need assistance, please contact advising staff in the College of Arts and Sciences at 651-793-1457 for referral to an advisor. Please note that many faculty advisors are off duty during the summer (mid-May through mid-August) and may not be available for advising; in this case, students should contact advising staff at the number above for referral to a staff advisor.
