Licensed Practical Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing
(LPN-BSN)
The current LPN-BSN Program in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Metropolitan State University has admitted its second cohort of LPN students. The first cohort graduated in December 2010 with the second cohort beginning the program in January 2011. After considerable deliberation, a decision has been made to suspend admission to the program. Feedback and evaluative data from each of the two admitted cohorts will be examined as we explore the future creation of a basic Baccalaureate program with mobility options for LPN students.
Admission Requirements
Please note: current admissions to this program are on hold. Admission requirements for future application cycles may include:
- Evidence of a current unencumbered LPN license in Minnesota
- A cumulative 3.0 GPA for all post-secondary courses completed prior to program admission review for the nursing major
- Standardized admission exams
Prerequisite Coursework
Each course must be at least three semester credits, taken at a regionally accredited college or university, and completed prior to the application deadline. Courses taken under the quarter system must be at least four quarter credits.
