Welcome to the College of Health, Community and Professional Studies (CHCPS) Advising Center!
CHCPS advisors are eager to assist students in achieving their academic and career goals and support student success. We encourage you to explore the CHCPS web pages as much as possible to educate yourself and support your success.
What is academic advising?
Academic advising is a shared relationship between student and advisor, and an extremely important resource for CHCPS students. CHCPS students are supported by the expertise of professional and faculty advisors. CHCPS advisors help students explore program options, understand degree requirements and develop plans to achieve their academic and professional goals. Upon acceptance to the university, CHCPS students will be assigned a professional advisor, faculty advisor or both, per program guidelines. Students are strongly encouraged to work with their advisor(s) immediately upon admission and continuously throughout their degree program.
