The School of Nursing is now a department within the new College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and no longer part of the College of Professional Studies.
The growing programs in the School of Nursing drove the need to create an appropriate collegiate home for the new health science programs. The first change you will notice for the fall is the addition of the Dental Hygiene department, offering programs to complete your bachelor's degree or augment your skills beyond your degree.
Dr. Marilyn Loen, formerly the Executive Director of the School of Nursing, is now the Dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. This appointment recognizes the growth in the University’s nursing programs under Dr. Loen's leadership, her work in securing approval for the newly-approved applied doctorate in nursing practice, and her work with the many cooperative programs for which she is responsible, including the HealthPartners Simulation Center and the new dental hygiene programs.
Watch for new programs to be added to health science in the future!
