Welcome to the College of Nursing and Health Sciences which is well-known for its innovative programs that keep pace with the ever-changing fields of nursing and dental hygiene. Metropolitan State University is the first university in the nation to offer an advanced dental therapy program which prepares graduates to provide mid-level dental care, under the general supervision of a dentist, while focusing on underserved populations. Our nursing programs have been recognized for their creative approaches to curriculum development at the baccalaureate, master's and doctoral level. Programs are offered entirely online or with a combination of online and face to face courses. Class sessions in the undergraduate program are run at six sites throughout the greater metropolitan area, usually on a one-day-per-week basis. All of our programs focus on the education of the adult learner.
Our highly qualified faculty and staff are dedicated and resourceful. Faculty are expert teachers and recognized clinicians who bring practical knowledge, student centered teaching/learning pedagogies, and current research to the learning environment. Additionally we are noted for our high quality holistic education of diverse, adult students. The varied curriculums prepare students to be successful in today's complex health care environment.
Our nursing programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and our dental hygiene programs are approved by the Minnesota Board of Dentistry.
