Metropolitan State University has partnered with Normandale Community College on three new dental hygiene programs. We currently offer programs to finish or augment your bachelor's degree and a master's program. These innovative programs respond to the demand for course offerings developing knowledge, skills, and values that will provide foundations and quality education for community-minded oral health care providers.

Oral health has been described as one of the single greatest unmet health care needs in the United States. These innovative dental education programs prepare students to positively impact the delivery of oral health care services.

The new Master of Science: Oral Health Care Practitioner (MSOHCP)program promotes community-minded health care practices and prepares practitioners to provide diagnostic, preventive, restorative, and therapeutic services to underserved members of our communities. This program promotes interdisciplinary teaching, building on existing graduate level courses to prepare mid level practitioners and the unique advanced dental therapist curriculum. This program aligns with the Competencies for the Advanced Dental Hygiene Practitioner developed by the American Dental Hygienists’ Association.
