How has the program prepared its students for advanced MIS jobs?

"Metropolitan State University information systems classes have allowed me to continue to be a marketable force in the information systems community. The wide array of classes, knowledge sharing with peers, and the talented faculty have made Metropolitan State one of the top educational facilities in the area."

Colette Salmanowicz,
Manager, Information Systems
Gillette Childrens Speciality Healthcare

"The MIS courses at Metropolitan State add a new dimension to my career. Not only do I remain up-to-date on current MIS issues, but I actually use many of the models and concepts presented in class to resolve work related issues. Even the course work is beneficial. It forces me to think outside the corporate box and to look at challenges from a different perspective."

Scott Wilgenbusch
American Express Financial Advisors

Can the courses be applied to an MBA or MMIS degree?

Yes, the program is designed so that three of the courses can apply directly to an M.B.A. or M.M.I.S. degree after official acceptance. Please note, however, that separate admission standards and processes are required for both the MBA and MMIS programs.

How long it will take me to complete certificate?

It will take about one year of full-time study to complete the certificate program.

Who are the faculty?

Faculty in the MIS program are professionals with a wealth of experience. All full time faculty have advanced degrees with considerable real world experience. These people are joined with community faculty, who are working professionals in their fields. Both groups know what is important in MIS and know how to teach in a way that is useful to you.

Who should get MIS certificates at Metropolitan State University?

There is a pressing need for graduate trained professionals to take on positions of Information Systems leadership in their firms. Many current Information Systems professionals also need to return to school to update their knowledge and move from older to newer areas in the field. These certificate programs will meet all these requirements.
