The Last Word in Managing
Most discussions about healthcare for organizations center around the public policy implications of laws, regulation, insurance issues, and the healthcare industry structure. At the College of Management, however, we regularly see individual organizations struggling with implementation of the new regulations, and how to navigate through the complexities of the current healthcare environment and continue to provide healthcare benefits for their employees. Whether the organization is private, public or non-profit, the employer is the deliverer of healthcare benefits that most people look to, and the new healthcare laws charge them with this responsibility. The focus of this event will therefore be from the management side, a perspective that gives us a unique angle from which to look at healthcare. In addition to providing some basic background information about the new healthcare environment, we will address a range of issues such as:
Registration Session One Speaker: Minnesota Commerce Commissioner Michael Rothman Topic: What Management Needs to Know About the New Healthcare Insurance Landscape— Insurance Exchanges and Beyond. Session Two Speakers: HealthPartners Executive Dr. Michael McGrail and Delta Dental President David Morse Topic: What Management Can Learn from Insurance Providers—Effective Strategies for Providing Healthcare in the New Environment.
