Metropolitan State University has proposed to offer the D.B.A. program with a requested start date sometime in 2009-2010. Program approvals are being sought from the Office of the Chancellor, MnSCU System, and the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Accreditation of Colleges and Schools.
Metropolitan State University's Doctor of Business Administration program prepares you to be a successful, ethical business leader in complex and changing organizations. The D.B.A. program will help you develop the advanced skills and depth of understanding needed to assume demanding positions in business management, higher education teaching, and management consulting.
The program also:
- Offers you an approved program that you can complete in three years and that is delivered in a Web-enhanced, cohort model, with students typically enrolled in one to two courses per semester. Classes will meet on alternate Saturdays with Web exercises offered in between classes.

About the Doctor Business Administration
The D.B.A. is an innovative doctoral program whose curriculum and research requirements focus on applied management practice. An internationally recognized alternate to the Ph.D. program, the D.B.A. enhances the knowledge and skills of experienced practitioners to prepare them for dealing with the increasingly complicated problems of business management, including competitive forces of the global economy, impact of the world-wide recession, and increasing accountability from public authorities and consumers.Back to top

Curriculum
The proposed D.B.A. curriculum is outlined below. Two years of seminars and one year of applied research. 72 credits, consisting of 28 credits from an M.B.A. or equivalent degree and 44 doctoral credits, which include eight four credit courses, two credit electives, and an eight credit applied research project. Admission Requirements
Admission to the D.B.A. program requires the following:- M.B.A. or equivalent masters degree
- 3.5 graduate GPA
- 550 GMAT score
- 1300 score calculated as (200 x grad GPA) + GMAT score
- Five years professional work experience
- Three reference letters
- Personal statement
