Metropolitan State University's Secondary Education Graduate Certificate program prepares you to successfully educate urban students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. This program is designed for individuals holding a bachelor's degree or higher and with or without a current teaching license.
The program also:
- Includes unique coursework in the assessment and instruction of diverse learners with disabilities and English language learners, including field experiences within urban and diverse settings.
- Offers courses taught by veteran teachers and administrators from public schools with experience teaching urban youth.
- Prepares you for content area literacy within the subject areas of licensure.
- Provides coursework, field experience, and student-teaching practicum to meet the requirements for Minnesota teaching licensure in secondary English/language arts, life science, mathematics, or social studies (a license for grades 5-12).
