The accounting major prepares well-educated individuals for professional careers in public accounting, managerial accounting, taxation, accounting systems, and private and public sector financial management through a rigorous program of study.

Metropolitan State's accounting program has consistently produced many of the top graduates in their fields. Your B.S. degree provides you with an excellent academic base for moving on into corporate management and, upon completion, gives you the academic qualifications to take the exams for Certified Management Accountant (CMA); Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and in Minnesota for Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

The accounting program is a part of the College of Management and is offered as a major.
