The Travelers EDGE Scholarship is made possible through the generosity of the Travelers Companies and is aimed at preparing students for careers in the insurance and financial services industry. Five awards of $6,000 each will be distributed. Awards are generally split evenly between fall and spring semesters.

Application Deadline: The scholarship application will be available on March 1, 2013 on the university's scholarship page. Search for Metropolitan State University Foundation/Travelers EDGE Scholarship. Applications must be submitted by noon on April 19, 2013. More Than Just a Scholarship: In addition to the financial assistance for tuition and books, Travelers EDGE Scholars receive individualized support from Pathways Program staff, a mentor from Travelers, and many opportunities to grow professionally.  


Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • officially admitted to Metropolitan State University
  • undergraduate student in good academic standing
  • registered for a minimum of 6 credits (undergraduate) for fall 
  • eligible to work in the US
  • minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0

Majors: To be eligible for consideration for a Travelers EDGE Scholarship award, applicants must be interested in pursuing a career in the insurance and financial services industry and have a declared major in one of the following academic areas:

  • Accounting
  • Advertising and Business Management
  • Applied Mathematics
  • Business Administration (or pre-business)
  • Computer Information Systems
  • Computer Science
  • Economics
  • Finance
  • Human Resource Management
  • Human Services - Training and Adult Development
  • Individualized and Interdisciplinary Studies (with a focus in Business, Communications, Management, Finance, or Human Resources)
  • Industrial Management
  • International Business
  • International Commerce
  • Management
  • Management Information Systems
  • Marketing
  • Organizational Administration
  • Professional Communication
  • Sales Management
  • Technical Communication and Professional Writing
