The primary responsibility for financing your education rests with you and your family. Financial aid through the university and other sources can be viewed only as supplementary to the efforts of yourself and your family.
Your "Expected Family Contribution (EFC)" is determined by a congressionally-mandated formula. This is the amount that you and your family are expected to contribute to meet the costs of attending college. Factors considered in the EFC include income, assets, family size, and number of family members attending college.
Your Financial Aid award is determined by the actual cost of attending the university and the amount you and your family contribute to your education.
The total expenses used in calculating your financial aid eligibility are based on average costs to attend Metropolitan State for the Fall and Spring semesters, also known as the "Cost of Attendance."
The Cost of Attendance includes tuition, books, supplies, room and board, transportation, and personal expenses. This is not the amount that you pay the college. It is an estimate of the cost to cover the above items.

(Note: The tuition, fees, room and board amounts in the tables below are averages and may not be the same as your actual charges.)
