Metropolitan State University staff is committed to abiding by the guidelines of the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974. FERPA requires the university to maintain the privacy of student records, notify students of the location of all official records kept by the University on students, and make adequate provisions for students to examine their own records upon formal request.
Students also have the right to seek amendments to and/or append statements to their record. Students may contact Gateway Student Services (651-793-1300) for more information.
Directory Information
The University is authorized under provisions of FERPA to release directory information upon request unless a student explicitly requests in writing the Registrar's Office not to do so.

No other information may be released concerning a student without written authorization from that student using the Registrar's Office Authorizaiton to Grant or Revoke Access to Student Educational Records form.
