Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS):
Newly admitted degree seeking students receive a transfer evaluation, called a Degree Audit Report (DARS), approximately 4 weeks after receiving your letter of admission. DARS is an advising tool that generates reports which provide helpful information about progress towards degree programs. Each report lists college requirements for a specific program of study and helps students plan and monitor progress by:
- Identifying all the requirements needed to complete a specific program.
- Identifying the General Education (including the MN Transfer Currilum) and Liberal Studies requirements.
- Indicating transfer credits and courses that have already been completed at Metropolitan State and how they pertain to program requirements.
- Identifying what is still needed to complete a program, with a list of courses that will satisfy each requirement.

Appealing the transfer of credit
For information about appealing the transfer of credit, please visit the Appeals page. Students are encouraged to work with their academic advisor to review and understand their DARS report and to discuss appealing transfer credit before submitting an appeal.
Updated Transcripts
If you have attended other institutions during your time at Metropolitan State University, be sure to have updated official transcripts forwarded to the Registrar's Office so the new transfer work can be evaluated towards your program requirements and applied on your DARS report. It may take 1-2 months for the additional coursework reflected on your updated transcripts received to be reflected on your DARS report.
