Payment Plans
We are pleased to offer a payment plan from Nelnet/FACTS Management Company, Inc. Nelnet/FACTS is a tuition management plan that provides students with a low cost option for budgeting tuition and fees. It is not a loan program - therefore, you have no debt, there are no interest or finance charges assessed, and there is no credit check. The only cost to budget monthly payments through Nelnet/FACTS is a $25.00 per semester nonrefundable enrollment fee.
Through Nelnet/FACTS, you will be able to:

Arrange for monthly payments on the 5th or 20th day of the month

Pay in full

Include the cost of required course texts and materials on your payment plan
You can choose to make your monthly payments directly from your bank account or by credit card (MasterCard, American Express, Discover are accepted). VISA is not accepted, but you can supply bank account information for automatic withdrawl. For more information, call the Financial Management at 651-793-1881.
You can sign up for a payment plan through Student e-Services or directly through the Nelnet/FACTS site.
Changes to your Payment Plans
When you add or drop classes, it is your responsibility to alert Financial Management in writing or via e-mail to these changes at least 10 days BEFORE your next payment.
Your scheduled Nelnet/FACTS payment plan will not automatically be adjusted if financial aid pays your tuition and fees or if you make any unscheduled payment directly to Metropolitan State University. It is your responsibility to inform in writing to adjust our Nelnet/FACTS payment plan by emailing Financial Management.
Payment Plans and Registration Holds
Students with Nelnet/FACTS tuition payment plans who have been making scheduled payments for the current semester without any non-sufficient fund (NSF) transactions will be allowed to register for their next semester's courses before the final payment is received by the university. If the final payment is not made, their registration for the next semester will be cancelled.
Payment Deadline and Drop For Non-payment
Students who enroll in the Nelnet/FACTS payment plan by the tuition payment deadline will not be dropped from their classes.
Bookstore Charges
To add the cost of required texts and materials to your Nelnet/FACTS payment plan:

Financial Management's approval will be forwarded to the Metropolitan State University Bookstore electronically within 24 hours.

Obtain the required materials/texts from the Metropolitan State University Bookstore. The charges, up to the requested limit, will be recorded on your student account.

Your Nelnet/FACTS Payment Plan balance and your monthly payment amount will be adjusted to include the Metropolitan State University Bookstore charges.

Check you Nelnet/FACTS account and your student account to confirm accurate charge increase.

If you are planning to use your financial aid to purchase books, please access Financial Aid's bookstore credit form.
International Student Insurance
International students are required to pre-pay insurance premiums in full prior to registration. A Nelnet/FACTS Payment plan cannot be used to pay the premium.
