Who we are and What we can do for you

The Math Center provides free support for learning mathematics, statistics and Java programming at Metropolitan State University. Students, faculty and staff can come to the Math Center for group work, individual practice and tutoring assistance. Many students come to the center on a regular basis to work on homework and other practice problems.

  • Tutors are available to work with individuals and groups during drop-in hours. The schedule changes each semester; contact us for the current hours.
  • Appointments are available for individual help with specific questions. We prefer that you make appointments at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Note that the schedule for the Java tutors is separate from the schedule for the Math Center.
    • During Java Queue, the tutor is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
    • During Java appointments, the tutor is available for half-hour sessions or hour long sessions.
  • The Math Center also holds workshops on a variety of topics, including graphing calculators and algebraic simplification techniques.
  • Handouts for the TI-83 or TI-83-Plus graphing calculator and other topics for math and statistics courses are available on-line and in the Math Center.
