- Academic Testing Center services are for independent study students, students who are making up a classroom test with instructor permission, and students taking waiver exams for the College of Management. The center cannot be used for testing all students in a classroom-based course.
- Open-book and/or open dictionary examinations that are not time-limited should be scheduled as take-home examinations.
- Please supply the examinations and instructions at least one day before students can begin testing. Electronic forms are preferred. We will schedule student appointments when we have the test or your e-mail telling us when you will send the test.
- Please complete all categories on the Academic Testing Center Cover Sheet. Copies are available at the Academic Testing Center Web site, in your New Faculty Orientation kit, and from the Academic Testing Center staff on the Saint Paul campus or the Minneapolis campus. If you submit a paper or fax Cover Sheet with your test, your signature is required. If you submit your Cover Sheet electronically, you must attach both the completed cover sheet and the test(s) to an e-mail from your Metropolitan State University e-mail account. Both versions of the form require you to use your tech ID number, which is on the front of your university ID card. We will return the test via U.S. Mail to your current address on file at the university.

Please tell your student where they should go to take their test. They may call, stop in, or complete the electronic form to make a testing appointment as soon as the test is on file. Please be sure to allow plenty of time for the test to reach the Center, so we can be ready when the student contacts us. Your students may find it helpful to have a copy of the cover sheet that you sent with their test; they will then understand both your expectations and those of the Academic Testing Center.
