Capital improvement projects and planning is about utilizing university and state funded resources to address current and future facility needs. The projects currently underway and/or in the planning process for future construction include:

Saint Paul Campus:

• Student Center Pre-Programming Study

2. Facilities Master Plan is at a 50% submission state.
3. St. John's Hall explansion project has been approved by the legislature in March 2010.  Demolition and construction began on June 3, 2010 and ready for occupany and classes August 2011.

4. 2010 Higher Education Asset Preservation and Replacement Projects in the MnSCU allocation from the bonding bill funds:
   1. New Main energy monitoring system replacement
   2. New Main, Great Hall lighting refurbishment
   3. New Main, Great Hall heating baseboard replacement
   4. Library and Learning Center curb cut-outs.
   The design and construction schedules are still being worked on.

North/West Suburbs:

1. New Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Center on the Hennepin Technical College (North) Campus, start date May 2009, progressing and expected to open the Fall 2010.
