The CAE Testing Center provides a secure environment for makeup examinations and for students enrolled in FDIS or online classes offered at Metropolitan State University that require proctored examinations.
Classroom instructors use the Testing Center for individual students who could not attend a regular class session and who have permission to make up the test. Instructors for online and FDIS courses should schedule tests with firm completion dates spread across the duration of the course.
Testing for coursework will be conducted on both Minneapolis and Midway campuses. Students should schedule appointments to take tests in advance in order to be assured a seat.
For students taking Metropolitan State courses who cannot travel to either the Minneapolis or the Midway campus to take exams, we help make arrangements for a proctor at a convenient location.
We no longer offer proctoring services for the CLEP program or for courses taught at other universities.

Diagnostic Assessment
Diagnostic placement tests in reading, writing and mathematics are required of all incoming students and are free of charge. These computerized or paper/pencil tests are administered by appointment. Visit Diagnostic Assessment at Metropolitan State.
