Commencement ceremonyApproximately 1,354 students are receiving bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees this semester with 775 students expected to participate in the fall commencement ceremony, which, for the first time, will take place as two programs to accommodate Metropolitan State University's growing student body.

The commencement ceremony is at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The afternoon program will begin at 12:45 p.m., and the evening program will begin at 6:15 p.m. All guests must have a ticket.

The afternoon program will feature a greeting from LaTasha Powell, Metropolitan State Alumna of the Year. The student address will be delivered by Susan Vold, President's Outstanding Student Recipient, College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

The afternoon program will recognize students graduating with bachelor degrees from the College of Community Studies and Public Affairs, College of Individualized Studies, and College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and master degrees from the following programs: Psychology, Advocacy and Political Leadership, Public Administration, Public and Nonprofit Administration, Criminal Justice, Nursing, and Advanced Dental Therapy.

The evening program will feature a greeting from Peter McLaughin, Hennepin County Commissioner, District 4. The student address will be delivered by LaToya Burrell, JD, President's Outstanding Student Recipient, College of Management.

The evening program will recognize students graduating with bachelor degrees from the School of Urban Education, College of Liberal Arts, College of Sciences and College of Management, aa well as master degrees from the following programs: Urban Education, Technical Communication, Liberal Studies, Computer Science, Business Administration and Management Information Systems.
