The Hmong Student Organization (HSO) will be hosting a workshop-centered Outspoken event Nov. 13. The event will focus on the diversity and differences that can be seen, heard and felt within our communities, as well as how these differences surfaced and how the world has reacted. Attendees will have the chance to express their thoughts and feelings about what diversity has meant for them.

According to HSO, "The goal of the workshop is to bring awareness of the differences and changes around what we now have. The event hopes to address their own personal bias and stereotypes along with identifying the main sources of discrimination. Individuals may learn to accept and understand their own diversity and the community around them."

HSO strives to "provide academic, social and cultural support." The organization serves as an advocate and facilitator regarding the process of "understanding Hmong culture, traditions and sharing the innovation of Hmong culture."
