Dr. Frank Schweigert

Welcome to the College of Community Studies and Public Affairs (CCSPA). Our college was newly formed in July 2016 to provide graduate and undergraduate programs in a wide range of public, social, and human service disciplines and professions. We offer undergraduate degrees in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Psychology, Human Services, Drug and Alcohol Counseling, and Social Work. We also offer master's degrees in Public and Nonprofit Administration, Public Administration, Nonprofit Leadership and Management, Criminal Justice, Advocacy and Political Leadership, Drug and Alcohol Counseling and Co-Occurring Disorders, and Psychology.

With campuses in St. Paul, Brooklyn Park, and the Midway neighborhood between Minneapolis and St. Paul, CCSPA embraces the entire Twin Cities Metropolitan area. In fact, our College is deeply and broadly engaged in our surrounding urban and regional community. We partner with a wide range of external agencies to provide internships and professional practicum opportunities. In addition to having a resident faculty whose expertise draws upon scholarship and practical expertise, we also employ experienced leaders in the field to teach in our programs on a part-time basis. Our approach is one of engagement because it allows us to provide the most up-to-date professional education to our students - students who come from a wide variety of backgrounds with a common desire to make valuable contacts and excel in their chosen professional careers. Most of our students go directly from our classrooms to careers in their field; many go on to graduate programs here at Metropolitan State University or elsewhere. I invite you to take a closer look at CCSPA and hope this information helps you to determine if our degree offerings could be the perfect option at this point in your education and career.

Thank you for considering CCSPA!
