A minor in political science provides students with a comprehensive introduction to the structure and values of political systems around the world. Students gain a deeper understanding of the meaning of "politics" and the connections between our politics and our culture and society. Students are encouraged to integrate theory and practice through a variety of learning strategies that include practical application.

Social Science Department faculty have received numerous teaching awards recognizing them for their applied work on local, state, and global issues. Faculty are committed to integrating theory and practice within the Social Science Department program offerings.
