Metropolitan State University offers a DNP program with entry at one of two levels depending upon previous nursing preparation.

  • The BSN to DNP option is for nurses who have a baccalaureate degree in nursing and would like to be prepared for the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) role of Family Nurse Practitioner.
  • The ELMSN to DNP option is for nurses who have earned an entry-level master's degree in nursing and who would like to be prepared for the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) role of Family Nurse Practitioner.
    • The ELMSN to DNP entry option has been designed for graduates from Metropolitan State's ELMSN program. Applicants from other entry-level graduate nursing programs must petition for transcript evaluation. Faculty will recommend an individualized plan of study based upon this review.
