Metropolitan State University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Accreditation is a process of reviewing the quality of higher education institutions. The Higher Learning Commission is one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States and certifies degree-granting post-secondary educational institutions in the North Central region.
The process or pathway followed for accreditation is the Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP). AQIP provides an alternative model of maintaining accreditation with The Higher Learning Commission. With AQIP, an institution has continuous quality improvement activities and accreditation becomes a continuous process. Learn more about AQIP
