Human Services Alumna, Ploua Yang, shares her experiences while attending Metropolitan State. Her favorite memory is her participation in the “Feeling Naked” event coordinated by the Human Services Student Association.
- What did you like best about attending Metropolitan State?
I enjoyed the different kinds of people I've met; it is the people who create the culture at Metropolitan State and made my career choices more meaningful. Also, the resources available to students. If you ask questions, you will find an answer.
- How has Metropolitan State helped prepare you in your career?
Joining the Student Senate and restarting the Human Services Student Association at Metropolitan State widened my networking opportunities and experiences and helped me become a better person and leader. These skills and experiences will help me better navigate my career.
- What’s your favorite memory involving Metropolitan State?
My favorite memory is the "Feeling Naked" event coordinated by the Human Services Student Association. The event, which provided clothing to community members in need, helped bring together students, faculty and community members, and that was very rewarding.
- What is your best/favorite learning moment at Metropolitan State?
My best learning occurred when participating in class discussions. I learn best when I participate and when instructors let the students lead the conversation. College is the time to learn and step out beyond your own comfort level and frame of reference.
