Ashley Weatherspoon joined Metropolitan State University in 2014 and is serving as the Acting Executive Director of Enrollment Services. Previously, she served as the Director of Student Partnerships and Collaborations and worked directly with all the community college partners of Metropolitan State.
In her current role, Weatherspoon works with Graduate and Undergraduate Admissions as well as the Partnership team to continue to build our relationships with our community college partners and increase transfer to Metro State. She also plays a critical role with the Minnesota State system office, representing Metropolitan State on three different Twin Cities Baccalaureate committees. She also co-leads the Strategic Enrollment Management Council which focuses on increasing university enrollment through a five-year comprehensive plan.
Weatherspoon brings to her current position more than 10 years of experience in higher education at the community college and university levels. Before coming to Metropolitan State University, she was the Director of Enrollment Services at Anoka-Ramsey Community College.
Weatherspoon earned her bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, Public Relations from Minnesota State University–Moorhead and her master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Minnesota State University–Mankato. She likes to think of herself as a product of Minnesota State, as she also holds an associate’s degree from Minnesota State Community and Technical College–Fergus Falls and has spent almost all of her career in the Minnesota State system.
