Bee Moua comes from the Moua clan and his first name in his native tongue, Hmong, is pronounced as: Mmm Bee. He identifies as a cisgender, Hmong, Asian American, and his pronouns are he, him, his. Moua was born in a refugee camp in Thailand and grew up on the west and east sides of Saint Paul, MN. He graduated from Harding Senior High School and has attended the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and Gustavus Adolphus College as an undergraduate. 

Moua has worked in higher education for six years and additional years as a navigator and student success coordinator. He joined Metropolitan State University as a student success coordinator for Asian American and Native Pacific Islander students in September of 2019.
