Metro State Votes Coordinator

    $10.50 starting wage, then $10.90 after 1,000 hours worked at this level

Major job duties

  • Coordinate student/university engagement in 2018 mid-term elections;
  • Plan issue and candidate forums in conjunction with Student Senate, students clubs, external partners and local campaigns;
  • Develop communications campaign and other strategies (drawing on past experiences) to increase voter awareness and participation among university students and employees;
  • Organize special events during the election cycle, e.g. voter registrations, Constitution Day.

Qualifications and experience

  • Must be fully admitted and continuously enrolled in a Metropolitan State University undergraduate program;
  • Experience with or knowledge of civic and voter engagement strategies, community organizing, political campaigns and/or campus student org’s;
  • Ability to coordinate efforts with university and external organizations;
  • Ability to work effectively independently and with others;
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
