Major job duties

  • Back up support for ICES Operations Coordinator, this includes word processing, filing, data entry, photocopying, collating, assembling and mailing materials, answering and routine calls, and providing students and staff with general information.
  • Assist with ICES events, including preparation and follow-up during scheduled work hours. This includes youth and community outreach initiatives.

Qualifications and experience

  • Ability to learn and understand the policies and procedures of the Institute for Community Engagement and Scholarship well enough to independently carry out duties.
  • Ability to work with Metro State students, staff and faculty.
  • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to learn and make efficient use of new computer systems used in maintaining records.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Access, Word and Excel. Ability to establish, maintain and manipulate information from complex record systems using Access.
  • Ability to compile complex reports independently.
  • Ability to understand and carryout oral and written directions which involve policy and procedural interpretations.
  • Must use tact, discretion and have excellent human relation’s skills when assisting students with ICES (primarily internship) concerns and issues.
  • Expected to represent the Institute for Community Engagement and Scholarship in the absence of the Operations Coordinator.
