Major job duties

Serve as an appropriate mentor and role model for Metro State TRIO college students.  Attend mentor meetings, ongoing skills development sessions and assist with TRIO-SSS events.  Be able to reach out and engage with mentees at least once a month and document contacts, be accessible via email/phone to respond to mentee questions and concerns.

Qualifications and experience

Must be able to work independently and be an excellent role-model of other college students.  Other qualifications include: good academic standing, min GPA of 2.5, completed 45 credits (15 credits at Metro State), at least three semesters left.  Considerations will be for students who have previous mentoring or student engagement experience.  Student must possess excellent interpersonal skills, responsible, dependable and desire to help others with nonjudgmental attitude.
