Major job duties
Working one-on-one with students to tutor writing organization, style, citation, clarity and more. Supporting drop-in tutoring services and participating in campus outreach. Paid professional development opportunities include initial training, subsequent in-service trainings, community learning sessions, and potentially, embedded tutoring.
Qualifications and experience
We are looking for confident students with excellent writing skills and solid interpersonal communication skills to tutor their peers in written assignments across disciplines. Completion of WRIT 131 and 231 with grades of B+ or higher. Completion of WRIT 331 with B+ or higher preferred. We’re looking for students who could tutor for at least one academic year. Graduate students may be eligible at pay level E.

Attach a sample of your academic writing of no more than 10 pages and the assignment instructions for the sample. Finally, attach a letter of recommendation from an instructor at Metro State (or a college/university where you may have obtained tutoring experience and/or taken relevant coursework) who can attest to your writing skills.
