Student Assistant to the Chief Editor of the Middle Ground Journal

Major job duties

Regular duties of the chief editor include:

1.      communicating with publishers;

2.      communicating with the journal’s assistant editors;

3.      coordinating with the journal’s assistant editors;

4.      communicating with authors, book reviewers, and other contributors;

5.      coordinating all the journal’s interns;

6.      learning and using Evernote for coordinating the work of the entire editorial staff of the journal;

7.      receiving and sending out books for book reviews (this is done via email since the pandemic);

8.      maintaining the online journal (timely uploading of articles and other contributions, learning and using Wordpress);


9.      promoting the journal (at conferences, in publications, on social media);

10.  working with the university’s Marketing to promote the journal, its activities, and to solicit articles and contributions;

11.  attending the annual AHA conference’s breakfast for journal editors (standing invitation);

12.  attending other conferences to promote the journal;

13.  coordinating interns and internships (both at home institution and at others).

Qualifications and experience

 

The internship involves assisting in the regular duties of the chief editor, Dr. Jeanne Grant. Work can be complete remotely.
