Major job duties

The teaching assistant will work with students in the Masters in Advocacy and Political Leadership Program to help improve their writing and comprehension. This position assists the faculty with communication projects. The teaching assistant will hold office hours 1-2 evenings a week and be available for other meetings either in person or on line to help students with their projects. When appropriate, the MAPL TA will also refer students to the Center for Academic Excellence for additional support. 

Qualifications and experience

Student must be familiar with MAPL courses and writing expectations and have taken at least 3 MAPL courses. Specifically, applicant must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in the types of writing genres common in MAPL academic and professional writing. In general, student must have strong writing skills and comfort with working with peers on strengthening their writing and comprehension skills. This person will provide support to students from across the MAPL program on specific writing projects that have been assigned by faculty.
