CJS 303 Risk-Need-Responsivity: Evidence-Based Practices in Corrections 2

This course focuses on the applications of risk/needs assessment tools that are the foundation on which a case plan is created with the justice involved client. The students will be familiarized with the research and history from which the tools have been derived.

  • Explain and demonstrate how to complete a risk/needs assessment tool.
  • Interpret and apply the results of a risk/needs assessment tool.
  • Describe the relationship between empirical knowledge and the practical application of that knowledge in working with the justice involved client.
