This course prepares students for college-level mathematics. Students learn mathematics by using on-line learning technology at home and in the lab. Lab sessions are conducted weekly with instructor supervision. Topics of this course include: real numbers, linear and quadratic equations, functions and their graphs, as well as applications of the above topics.
- Demonstrate proficiency in basic arithmetic calculations and algebraic derivations, at the prerequisite level of College Algebra.
- Understand the concepts of linear functions, quadratic functions and their applications.
- Understand the concepts of rational and real numbers, and their arithmetic; variables, algebraic expressions and equations; functions and their numerical, algebraic, geometric and verbal representations.
