English as a Second Language, Secondary, and Special Education

The faculty in the Department of ESL, Secondary, and Special Education provide instruction and advising in the following undergraduate and graduate-level licensure programs:

  • English as a second language
    • offering both an undergraduate minor and a graduate-level program within the M.S. Urban Education for an additional MN license as a K-12 ESL teacher  
  • Secondary Education
    • offering both undergraduate and graduate pathways to grades 5-12 licensure for the following subjects in collaboration with departments in the College of Liberal Arts and College of Sciences:
      • Communication Arts and Literature
      • Life/General Science
      • Mathematics, or 
      • Social Studies
  • Special Education
    • graduate-level program within the M.S. Urban Education for an additional MN license as a K-12 Special Education-Academic Behavioral Strategist teacher
