This is a course for advanced biology students, centered on the weekly reading and discussion of the current issue of Science. Published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science, Science is the most widely read scientific journal in the world and every issue contains peer-reviewed research articles, news and reviews from across the spectrum of scientific disciplines with core strength in biological sciences. This course builds student knowledge of current scientific research and issues in biology and develops skills in scientific reading, discussion and presentation at the advanced level. ** Note: this is a variable credit course with credit range of 1 - 2.
