About Transfer Pathways
Transfer Pathways are designed so you can complete a specific associate degree at a Minnesota State college and transfer to a Minnesota State university to earn a bachelor’s degree without losing credits or taking extra courses. Transfer Pathways can be a great resource for saving time and money as you work toward graduation.
If you complete a Transfer Pathway degree program at a Minnesota State college and are admitted to Metropolitan State, you will be guaranteed junior status and given assurance that all 60 college credits will count toward the related bachelor’s degree.
Curriculum
After you finish a curriculum of lower-division credits (and become an admitted Metro student), you’ll complete your four-year degree with upper-division credits from Metropolitan State University. Degree requirements—and any eligibility criteria some programs have in addition to university admissions—are found on each program’s page.
When you complete a Business Transfer Pathway degree program at a Minnesota State college and are admitted to Metropolitan State, you will be guaranteed junior status and given assurance that all 60 college credits will count toward the related bachelor’s degree. You are required to earn the minimum grade for courses related to your specific major. Contacting your academic advisor early in your program will help you get the most out of your education such as completing two majors, adding a minor that is related to your career goals, or incorporating prerequisites required for graduate school. Working closely with your academic advisor will also ensure you select the correct courses in the right sequence in order to graduate in a timely manner.
Future students: When you are close to completing your associate degree at the community college, you are encouraged to learn about the steps to enroll at Metro State. Or, if you have questions about what Metropolitan State can offer you, request information, visit campus, or chat with an admissions counselor.
Once you are admitted to the university, you will be assigned to an academic advisor in the College of Management. Your advisor can work with you to choose courses that will satisfy requirements at Metro State and help you achieve your academic goals.
