The Metro State Univeristy Theater Program and Theater Underground invite interested students to open auditions for Kira Obolensky's Dirt Sticks!
Mythic and magical, Dirt Sticks tells the story of young man, Henry Wand, an orphan, who lives with his aunt and her friend in Ladder Town. On the eve of the full moon, a mysterious peddler unexpectedly comes to town and sells Henry visions of the future and the past. Through this exchange, Henry's life is changed forever as he uncovers the tragic past that his family buried long ago. The play asks:
How do our pasts inform the present? Is it possible for us to free ourselves from the past so that we may build a new future? What does it mean to have a second chance?
Auditions take place Monday, August 28, and Tuesday, August 29, 5:30–8:30 p.m.
No appointments are needed — auditions will be first come, first served.
Sides for cold readings will be provided. Please bring a list of your conflicts for September and October, as well as a résumé if you have one.
