The Be Heard MN Youth Poetry Slam Series is an annual competition that seeks to identify six poets, between the ages of 13 and 19, to represent Minnesota in the international Brave New Voices youth poetry slam festival each summer. The 15 poets competing in this year's first Semi-Final Bout are one step closer to securing their spot on the team. Be sure to step out and support these young poets, their voices, their stories and their bravery.

This poetry slam series strives to harness the social and cultural power of slam poetry to create a platform through which young people’s stories are validated and celebrated. Dozens of youth poets from across the state are competing in this poetry slam series for a chance to represent Minnesota at Brave New Voices in Las Vegas.
