Senator and Metropolitan State University alumna Sandy Pappas invites students, alumni, staff and faculty to attend the 2019 Breakfast at the Capitol. The tentative event schedule is as follows:
- Event welcome by Senator Pappas
- University highlights by Metropolitan State President Ginny Arthur
- Higher education policy Q & A with legislators and President Arthur
- Members' interests and initiatives by legislators
A number of other senators and representatives have also been invited to Breakfast at the Capital, including Representative Eric Lucero, who is also a Metropolitan State alumnus.
Pappas is on the Capital Investment, Judiciary and Public Safety Finance and Policy, and the Rules and Administration committees. Her special concerns include women, labor, children and immigrant issues. Most recently, the Senator passed the Women’s Economic Security Act (WESA), which protects women in various situations within the workplace.
The event is free and will be held at the Minnesota Senate Building. Space is limited, so be sure to email Alumni Relations to RSVP by Jan. 18. More information can be found on the Breakfast at the Capitol Facebook page.
