Career competencies are intended to cultivate and improve students' skills that are sought after by employers. Join this session to discover how you can help your students develop these skills. During this presentation, faculty members from various colleges and disciplines will demonstrate how they incorporate one or more Metro State Career Competencies into their courses. You will walk away from the session with concrete examples of how you can integrate these competencies into your disciplines.

Erica Berte: is an associate professor of Management at Metro State University. She holds a PhD in management from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Eric Fotsch: is the director of field experiences, licensure officer, and professor at Metro State University, School of Urban Education. He holds a BA in communications and secondary education from DePauw University and an MS in elementary education from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls.

Maureen O’Dougherty: is an associate professor of Social Science and holds a PhD in cultural anthropology from the City University of New York

Kate Ries: interim associate dean of Metro State University’s College of Sciences (COS). Associate professor of Chemistry in the Natural Sciences Department (2019–2023).

The College of Business and Management Lunch and Learn is part of an ongoing monthly series of presentations and discussions hosted by the College of Business and Management. This conversation is open to all educators, administrators, instructional designers, and students of Minnesota State Education System. This series allows everyone to meet during lunchtime (Central Standard) and bring their questions and ideas that will include conversation starters and an opportunity for both large and small group conversations.
