Youth scientists are invited to join the First Saturday Science (FSS) team as we explore the science of our planet! We'll show you how to measure earthquakes and how to filter water like the Earth does. For this month's fun laboratory activity, our FSS team will demonstrate a chemical reaction by making a volcano-in-a-bottle!
If you'd like to follow along with the live-stream event and build your very own mini-volcano, you'll need the following materials:
• 1/4 cup of white vinegar
• 1/4 cup of baking soda
• red food coloring
• air dry clay
• beaker or small cup
Join us on YouTube for this live-streamed event! To receive additional content on the first Saturday of each month, please join the FSS email list by contacting FSS Coordinator Alyssia Bell at alyssia.bell@my.metrostate.edu. These monthly sessions are FREE and open to the public. Ideal for ages 6-12.
Co-sponsored by Metro State University's Institute for Community Engagement and Scholarship and the College of Sciences. For further information, please contact the Institute at community.engagement@metrostate.edu.
