First Saturday Science is a program designed by Metropolitan State University's Institute for Community Engagement and Scholarship (ICES) for community children of all ages to expand their exposure to science. Once a month, students are guided through an exploration of a specific field of inquiry in a hands-on laboratory. March's science theme is Within the Code.

The goal of the First Saturday Science program is to demonstrate the accessibility of science: that it is for everyone to discover and experience and that it encompasses many diverse and realistic options for future careers. No RSVP needed; simply show up at the venue at the right time. The event is free for kids of all ages (youth under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian).
