Program-level assessments are central to our accreditation and quality assurance processes and can support institutional efforts to raise stakeholders’ confidence in higher education. In this session, we will learn about the key ‘good practices’ for assessing program-level student learning outcomes. Specifically, the presentation will address the importance of assessment; strategies for writing program-level learning outcomes; engaging in curriculum mapping; choosing direct v. indirect assessments of learning; leveraging results for continuous improvement in student performance; and key resources for institutional support in program assessment activities.
